Wow, this looks like fun. Hoo-eee boy. Yessir, lookout, we're havin' a ball. Two of these 'golfers' are in the throes of yet another 100+ outing, while the third seems to be using a covert hand-signal to indicate what he thinks of his friends.

A friendly local gives us a grin. There were actually some cats running around the course, although not many. Now you know why. |

"English Finds His Ball" You can't tell from this photo, but the flag in the background is about a mile away, which makes it large enough to be visible from the space shuttle. To modest Canadians such as ourselves this was a source of much wonder, as in "I wonder what the hell is wrong with Americans?" and "I wonder what the hell they were thinking when they put that up?" The mystery was solved by a local, who told us that the flag pole was actually a cellphone tower. Local residents were appalled by the size of the tower when it went up, but were told to wait, that once it was finished there would be a nice suprise in store. The nice surprise turned out to be the Enormous Old Glory you see here, or as our local friend put it a "big, beautiful American flag". I don't know what else to say, but I think the pose being struck here is far more eloquent than I could ever be with mere words. |
